Hello My Name Is...

Kristi Knitter

Welcome to my web page!  I am a former third grade teacher who turned school counselor.  I come from a family of educators that has included teachers, coaches, a media specialist, and even a director of schools.  In short, I love school and learning and the kids and people that are involved in it!  I have a BS in elementary education, a Masters in school counseling and 30 hours over a Masters with emphasis in administration and supervision.  So far, I've worked in Murfreesboro City Schools for 30 years.
I like to really get to know the school children at Northfield and that includes knowing their families.  Please feel free to contact me and know that we want to foster a welcoming atmosphere for your children to achieve their maximum potential.  Here's a little about me and my family.

I am married to a wonderful man who is yet another teacher!  He teaches 6th grade at Hobgood Elementary.  We have two children, Katie and Tripp and a new son-in-law, Stephen.  These people are my biggest blessings in the world.

We enjoyed watching Katie play soccer and tennis growing up and in high school.  When she went to the University of Tennessee we enjoyed traveling there to see her and watching football.  She is now married and working.  We also enjoy watching Tripp play sports.  He likes to play baseball and basketball and whatever else is happening.  I have been lucky to have had both children attend Northfield Elementary and I couldn't be more pleased with the education and the teachers they had here.  I truly place my full confidence in Northfield!
When you don't find me at school or a ball field, I'll probably be carrying around a camera or enjoying a long walk.  I love photography and I love walking for my exercise and peace of mind.
